Where the dickens have we been for the last two months?

Been wondering where exactly the action has been taking place?  Wait no more!

The map below shows our route thus far, nearly 3000km from where we began in Ushuaia in December. Happily settled in sunny Santiago for a few days here, where we can catch up on some missing blog entries, chillax and enjoy some time in the city.

P.S. If anyone was wondering about the earthquakes here the other day, we were right where they struck and didn't even notice.

  1. Have been enjoying your Chile blog. But what route did you take between Coihaique and Puerto Montt/Santiago? Did I miss a bit?

  2. After the drama of getting to Coihaique we had pretty much had enough of biking / camping in cold rain, so we carried on through to Puerto Asien where we caught the Navimag up to Puerto Montt. Despite it feeling like a cop out at the time it was actually an amazing trip and we could see the fiords from a totally different perspective. Usually it is very expensive to take bikes on that boat (almost another ticket) but we got around it by pulling the wheels off the bike to make it less bike - shaped and wrapping it in rubbish bags. We checked it on as baggage and no one even blinked!
